In a move that was probably not considered by anyone, Thermaltake has launched its latest Riing Trio 12 RGB Radiator fans, their flagship fan series which have been updated to the TT RGB plus Ecosystem with addressable RGBs. Thermaltake says that in the 3rd quarter of 2018 the Riing Trio will be officially Amazon Alexa supported.

This all works through Thermaltake’s TT RGB Plus Software and TT AI Voice Control for fan speed customization and LED lighting controls. Already you can use the TT RGB Plus software and app to monitor fan performance, speeds and lighting effects as well as using voice controls to turn lights on or off, switch modes, dim the lights, change colors and adjust the light speeds and patterns.

Thermaltake says in their press release that all Thermaltake TT RGB Plus products support Amazon Alexa Voice Service, allowing you to control the lights or fan speeds by talking to the Alexa-enabled device. They also say that it can be used to check current weather conditions in the local area or anywhere in the world although how useful this is can be up for debate. That being said it seems somewhat intuitive and Thermaltake explains ‘All you have to do is simply starting the sentence with “Alexa, tell Thermaltake”, then the lighting color will correspond to the weather condition in the location.’
Also the fans support Razer Chroma Lighting like all other Thermaltake TT RGB Plus products and connect to the ecosystem. Users who have installed both the TT RGB PLUS Software and Razer Synapse 3 can experience synchronized gaming and RGB lighting effects on their TT RGB PLUS liquid cooling system and gaming gear! From cooldown timers, health bars, and flashy ultimate indicators, to subtle ambient lighting that sets the perfect mood for each game, Razer Chroma provides an experience that transcends the screen and into your full setup, for a truly immersive experience.
The fans feature 30 addressable RGBs and have a built-in lighting controller with a DIP switch on the back, this is so you can set a number for each controller without too much hassle. You can add up to 5 devices to one lighting controller and up to 16 controllers to the software. The controller and the coding guide are included in all of these packs.

As for the fan itself, it is a 120mm PWM fan with 9 blades designed to generate high airflow without compromising silence. It is a radiator fan and is engineered for static pressure. It uses a hydraulic bearing that self-lubricates with a high-quality, friction-reducing substance, which lowers operation noise while improving thermal efficiency. The seal cap prevents lubricant leakage and extends the lifespan of the unit. Finally, it features an anti-vibration mounting system. In-mold injection anti-vibration rubber pads provide a hassle-free usage with 80% protection coverage for all corners.

The fans are available now for $85 on Amazon and come with a 2-year warranty.
