Why do manufacturers generally avoid putting large batteries in smartphones? It may be fear of dealing with explosion problems, or by the simple fact that thin and light appliances sell more.

Fortunately, there are some exceptions to this rule: this is the case of the Energizer Power Max P16K Pro, which brings absurd 16000 mAh battery.

That’s right: it has more than five times the battery capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S9 (3000 mAh) or iPhone X (2716 mAh). It lasts up to five days of use and has the capacity to remain 40 days on standby.

Of course, this means that the device is thick and heavy. The company does not reveal the exact dimensions, but it has a thickness of approximately 15mm – twice the iPhone – and weighs about 300g. According to the GSMArena, it is not difficult to hold it in hand thanks to the angled edges.

The Full-HD 5.99-inch display has an 18:9 aspect ratio, yes, it means that it is simply following the current screen trend. Inside, there’s a MediaTek Helio P23 octa-core processor which is clocked at 2.5 GHz and has 6 GB of RAM. While if we talk about the internal storage then let me clarify that this device boasts a huge storage space of 128 GB and not only that even it can be expanded via microSD as well.

Moreover, this smartphone also features a dual rear camera, with sensors of 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel respectively; below the there is the digital reader (fingerprint reader). The front camera is also dual, with 16 MP and 13 MP sensors.

According to Mashable, the back is made of plastic – the metal would make the device even heavier – and mimics the look of glass, joining fingertips easily. It has USB Type-C port, but Energizer does not say how long the battery takes to charge.

The P16K Pro will be released in September for about $500, running Android 8.0 Oreo. It is manufactured by France’s Avenir Telecom, which licenses the Energizer brand for smartphones.
