Today in Android: Asus Zenfone 4 Pro Oreo Update Rolled Out, OnePlus 3/3T Get New Open Beta Build

The number of devices running Oreo is woefully low, despite Android P only being months away from deployment. Thankfully, ASUS is making progress on updating its entire ZenFone 3 and four lineup to Android 8.0 Oreo. One of the first devices to receive Oreo was the ZenFone 4, which was  December. It was followed by the ZenFone 3 in January. The next phone from ASUS to get Oreo is the ZF4 Pro, according to a new post on the company’s forums. The update had a version number of V15.0410.1802.34 and was released today, so it may be a while before you get it. Here’s the full changelog:

ASUS said all ZF3, and four variants would be updated to Android Oreo by the second half of 2018. However, there are still plenty of devices left. Their latest flagship the Zenfone 5 series of devices already run Oreo out of the box. We can only hope that Asus follows up with their commitment.

OnePlus 3T available in the US

The one thing we really like about OnePlus is that they never skimp on updates. The OnePlus5/5T just began their Oreo 8.1 open beta today. The OnePlus 3 and 3T are getting theirs today, albeit still running Oreo 8.0. The changes appear to be the same, but the version numbers are different. The OP3 gets v32 and the OP3T is v23.
