The LG G6 Oreo update saga is nearly complete, as the update has been rolled out by most carriers in the US. Today, T-Mobile has finally gotten around to pushing Oreo to the LG G6. The update carries build H87220a number and includes the Oreo system update as well as various unnamed bug fixes. To prevent network congestion, T-Mobile set the updates on a scheduled daily limit, so you might have to wait a few days before you get it.

Most US models of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have received their Android 8.0 Oreo updates by now starting with ATT and followed by Verizon and Sprint. It’s now the T-Mobile versions’ turn, leaving the US unlocked model as the only major American S7 that hasn’t received Oreo yet. The update began rolling out last night and includes the standard Oreo features such as Autofill, picture-in-picture, notification dots and some Samsung-specific changes such as Dual Messenger and high-contrast keyboard options. The update weighs in at around 1.75GB and comes with the April security patch. It also presumably comes with the RCS Universal Profile that was announced earlier.
The Huawei Mate 10 Lite and the Huawei P10 Lite are both receiving an update to Android 8.0 Oreo, according to XDA Developers (via HuaweiBlog.de). Both devices will receive the latest version of EMUI8 which comes with its own set of additional features. EMUI is Huawei’s Android fork that’s found across most Huawei and Honor devices. The update weighs in at a colossal 2.5GB, and the build number for the P10 Lite is WAS-LX1A 8.0.0.362 (C432) and RNE-L01 8.0.0.330 (C432) for the Mate 10 Lite. There is no doubt that Huawei makes excellent phones across all price points. However, their software game is a bit lacklustre, with several devices having to wait months for a security patch. To remedy the situation, Huawei announced that they would be introducing software updates every two months for many of their smartphones.
