Apple is expected to host another event sometime this month in which it will reveal its highly anticipated iPad Pro models with Face ID and all-screen design. The devices are being tested internally for the past few months which is revealed in the latest leak. Mobile app analytics platform Appsee has revealed that the model identifiers iPad8,1, iPad 8,2, iPad8,3, iPad 8,4, iPad 8,5, and iPad 8,8 first appeared on its logs starting from August 1. Earlier this month, it was also reported that the same identifiers represented the upcoming 2018 iPad Pro models. Let’s see some more details on it.
Upcoming iPad Pro Models To Feature The Same Resolution A That of The Current 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch Models
As we have mentioned earlier, the model identifiers have appeared since August 1. This means that Apple has been testing the new iPad Pro models for more than two months now. However, the analytics firm’s data is yet to see model identifiers iPad8,6 and iPad8,7. These identifiers depict both Wi-Fi models, as well as the Wi-Fi + cellular.

In addition to this, there are several other details which stemmed from the Appsee data. One of the most interesting bits were the display resolution of the upcoming iPad Pro models. As noted by Macrumors, it seems the forthcoming iPad models will feature the same display resolution as that of the current 12.9-inch and the 10.5-inch iPad Pro.
Specifically, the data shows that the 10.5-inch model (iPad8,1 to iPad8,4) will support a resolution of 1112 x 834, while the 12.9-inch iPad Pro model (iPad8,5 and iPad8,8) will support a resolution of 1366 x 1020. The original report states that the 2x modifier integrated by Apple in the display allows us to estimate the actual resolution.

The unreleased iPad Pro models will most probably feature the 4:3 aspect ratio despite the fact that the bezels are being shaved off as part of the new design. This suggests that the resolution for both models will be 2224 x 1668 and 2732 x 2048, respectively. This is the same resolution offered currently by Apple.
However, the report is not as plain as it seems, there are certain contradictory elements as well. It was previously rumored that the upcoming iPad Pro models will feature an 11-inch display this year. If this turns out to be true, the resolution would definitely be altered to the display size.
Apple is planning to launch the new iPad Pro models sometime this month and we’re excited about it. There will be more to the story so be sure to stay tuned in for more details. This is all for now, folks. What are your thoughts on the matter? Let us know in the comments.
