World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth patch 8.1 has been deployed on the Public Test Realm (PTR), which includes numerous changes to spells, achievements, strings, and more.
We already covered the upcoming 8.1 content update for Battle for Azeroth last week, and a new build for the 8.1 patch is being made ready for testing. The 8.1 content update for World of Warcraft’s seventh expansion is called Tides of Vengeance and will continue Battle for Azeroth’s War Campaign. The full upcoming release notes are quite extensive, and can be found at MMO-Champion here.

When the patch hits the live servers it will contain new raids, Incursions, new Island expeditions, heritage armor for Dwarves and Blood Elves, system improvements and much more. For additional details, we suggest reading our post on the 8.1 Tides of Vengeance patch.
It’s unsure when the 8.1 content update will arrive on the live servers. Usually, PTR content will hit the live servers within a few months. We’ll update as soon as the patch hits the PTR servers.
Blizzard released Battle for Azeroth back in August of this year, and the expansion has become the fastest-selling expansion in World of Warcraft’s history.
“Battle for Azeroth is a definitive chapter in the Horde and Alliance conflict at the heart of Warcraft, and it’s been thrilling to see players representing their factions in record numbers and embarking on their war campaigns—not to mention joining in ourselves,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “But the launch is just the beginning of this conflict. More epic content is coming to World of Warcraft in the weeks ahead, and we can’t wait for players to experience the full story as it unfolds over the course of the expansion.”
