Since being announcing World War Z last year, Saber Interactive has made it clear the game will ship with three zombie-infested locations – New York, Moscow, and Jerusalem. Well, it seems like Saber’s been working on something a little extra for fans, as today they announced World War Z will actually have a fourth map, Tokyo. The densely-packed Japanese map is really rather beautiful, but make no mistake, the zombie hordes still get ugly there. Check out the World War Z Tokyo trailer, below.
Looking good! Nice to know we’re getting a little more variety at launch. Here’s how Saber Interactive describes the Tokyo map…

The new “Stories in Tokyo” gameplay trailer travels to Japan to show off World War Z’s surprise fourth map, where hordes of zombies will ambush survivors through narrow streets and dense urban jungles, battling players right up to the edge of the sea. The Tokyo episode will feature two missions available at launch, with a bonus mission arriving for free shortly after release.
Haven’t been keeping up with World War Z? Here’s the game’s official synopsis:
Powered by Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine, World War Z unleashes hundreds of fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies – able to move as one collective horde as well as break off as individuals units – at a time on players. Choose from six distinct classes and an arsenal of deadly weapons, explosives, turrets and traps. Outlive the dead through intense four-player co-op campaign missions around the world, and battle both zombies and human opponents in competitive, team-based Players vs. Players vs. Zombies multiplayer.
I’ve had a chance to go hands-on with World War Z, and trust me, the game is surprisingly fun. If you’ve got a few extra minutes, you can learn about World War Z’s zombie types, ties to the movies, and more in Wccftech’s full interview.
